Computers for Children’s Healthcare
Electronic Asset Processing Program
- S.I. Inc. has launched a program with the Atlanta office of Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) – a national charity that raises funds for more than 170 children’s hospitals throughout the country – reaching 17 million children each year. In the Atlanta area, CMN works in conjunction with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – a not-for-profit organization that manages more than 500,000 patient visits annually at three hospitals and 16 neighborhood locations in the Atlanta area.
Getting involved is easy. A corporation collects computers and related equipment. Aeris Services will pay to ship the equipment to their facility in Douglasville, Georgia. The equipment is then tested, inventoried, and sold to domestic resellers. 50% of all proceeds collected in this manner are donated to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in the name of the donating company. Any equipment that is non functioning will be recycled, under the strictest guidelines, by our recyclers who hold ISO 9001, ISO 14000, and R2 Rios certifications.
Companies that donate are directly supporting hospitals in their neighborhood. Working with Children’s Miracle Network provides this direct means of helping the community and the corporation’s workforce and their families. Companies that make donations also receive a letter of charitable giving from CMN. The tax deduction provided by these letters can provide a company with a larger budget for purchasing green IT equipment.
Lastly, a company receives a great marketing opportunity to promote its involvement with Children’s Miracle Network which is a nationally recognized charity with many Fortune 500 companies that are already partners.
